After working for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh for 30 years and battling winters it was time to retire to Florida--but where? After nine Autotrain trips, house-hunting in Tampa and West Volusia County and dealing with four agents, I received a postcard from Maria Lewis saying "This could be your back yard." Maria knew I was unable to buy a home in Ormond Beach until my house sold in a slow Pittsburgh market, she nonetheless showed me many beautiful Central Park homes on two different trips and kept up an e-mail correspondence.
The extra effort Maria went to included showing me homes I had not noticed on my walks around Ormond Beach. As Buyers Agent, Maria gave frank, helpful information about the city and possible expenses in the future. Most importantly, Maria is a calm person who guided me through the purchase process when at times, I wanted to throw in the towel. She is an Ormond Beach insider who directed me to an insurance agent, loan specialist, and handyman. None of these advertise (word of mouth only), so Maria's contact was vital.
Finally, this may seem like a small point, but Maria ALWAYS answered her cell phone when I had to call with a question. With most agents, you leave a message and they return your call. Moving 900 miles and downsizing is not easy. Maria made the house search and settlement process as easy as was possible. Thank you Maria and I hope you're still in the business in 20 years, when I sell this house!!

Maria Lewis and Re/Max have provided service to us we think was and continues to be excellent!
We first happened into the Re/Max Property Centre in Aug, 2005 after a disappointment with our rental house and rental agency . We were "assigned" to Maria Lewis who patiently listened to us with our wants and needs in purchasing a home in Ormond Beach. The very next day she spent nearly three hours with us showing us many homes and listening to our likes and dislikes about the homes we saw.
We did find a home that we liked and put in a bid but it was not accepted. We went back to New York disappointed but with plans to try again next year. Maria continued to remain in contact with us until we called upon her again in April of 2006. After viewing many homes Maria Lewis found us our home that we wanted. She spent a lot of time with recommendations and specifics-getting the power turned on, the telephone, the water, insurance agents, etc. She was with us at the closing and even bought us and the cats housewarming gifts!
As our move was not immediate and our mail had started to arrive Maria collected it. On the day of our move Maria arrived with our mail and with a welcoming gift of cookies and her best wishes in our new home.
We had further occasion to call upon Maria for recommendations for a physician and for cleaning services after I broke my leg. Maria has continued to call and check upon our progress and even came to visit again to see how we were doing and even again showed up with a gift of a house plant.
Thank so much Maria Lewis for your sincere personal and professional care and concern during our house hunting and continuing long after.
